This is a really great purple Amethyst Cave or geode – with lovely clarity in the medium to large sized points with clear colour at the base moving gently into a good purple at the top. After inquiries, we seem to be one of the only Australia companies buying very good quality in 2018.
And it will be free shipped with Pack N Send boxing it and couriering within Australia unless you live in a remote place where shipping costs are prohibitive. We will discuss with this you in the rare event this occurs.
Here is how is are the geodes are graded into one of 16 classifications:
- Colour of the purple points – grey colour, up to a good strong purple
- Clarity of points – clear, down to foggy even opaque
- Depth of colour – purple is only on the top or the point, up to colour is all the way to the root.
- Inclusions – are the inclusions “zero, to inclusions but are interesting, down to inclusions make the cave unappealing.
- Cave face – cave has an open mouth, down to mouth is non existent
- Cave shape – this doesn’t seem to affect price as every shape appeals to any one.
For this amethyst cave there is a sprinkling of black carbon on some points. And unusually there is little agate surround to be seen. Here is a video taken in the strong Aussie sun and a video taken inside the old shop. There is also a YouTube video where I am demonstrating cleaning it.
We of course do sell this size to families who want something extra special to celebrate a major life event or to a corporate board room. Let the cave cleanse you and your space releasing anxiety and stress, creating an organised mind for you. And then opening your connection to Spirit and to abundance.
Like most of our caves it is even all over – in shape, thickness of crust and in colour. Team an amethyst cave with other crystals like selenite tower, rose quartz rough and other crystals as an altar for the home or business to really get the energy bursting through your place.. It has a few mini clusters of a calcite adding its cleansing and expanding energies to the mix. And very cute, giving this cave its unique look.
One of the difficulties with amethyst is that it has so many grades (all with misnomers) and so price comparison without visual inspection is difficult. Many of the “cheap” are two or more grades below this.
Recent efforts (Dec 2022) to buy new caves have shown the quality is terrible and the prices have shot up. We are not replacing amethyst caves unless we can find reasonable quality – it took visits to 4 suppliers before I found even one of OK quality to buy.
