Aragonite Cluster – Sputnik

We have a lovely fresh batch of natural Aragonite crystal clusters called Sputniks as they look like the Russian space station. They also seem to have a new name of aragonite star cluster.

We have sold heaps to many boys, girls, guys and gals. These will make great tooth dairy, stocking stuffers … gifts. Dimensions are for the larger or rather heavier one on the right.

Special Notes

• Aragonite provides the materials necessary for much sea life and also keeps the pH of the water close to its natural level.
  • At several points in earth's history it was more prolific than calcite.
  • It transforms over time to calcite - more geological information.
• Very soft so easy to carve.
• Most common colour is cream and tan.
• "Sputnik" aragonite
  • is a natural form of aragonite that looks like the Sputnik space station and is mostly found in Morocco.
• "Coral" aragonite
  • is a white natural from of aragonite that looks like white coral and is mostly found in Mexico.
• Natural blue aragonite
  • is mainly found in China (uncommon).
• Blue and Pink Aragonite
  • Most of this is actually dyed aragonite as white aragonite does not have much appeal to the general public in colour.
  • Unless the colour is stabilised it will fade.
