Geological Information on Bronzite and Hypersthene

All are variations based on how much iron is present. They are found in igneous and some metamorphic rocks as well as in stony and iron meteorites.

Special Notes

• Hypersthene can be muddled with amphibole mineral hornblende. It is also called  orthopyroxene.
• Bronzite can be muddled with bastite.
• Enstatite is one of the few silicate minerals that have been observed in crystalline form outside the Solar System.
• Used in jewellery and small decorative objects but seems to have no other use.
