Wonderfully good quality in such a large Smoky Quartz Point from Brazil with a small companion point. It’s more than a handful! It is rare you find such big points and in such great condition. This is one very, very old crystal to have grown this big. It is not irradiated to create the colour.

This crystal always makes me think of me holding my small puppy up at my shoulders as we survey the world! All natural! That is, no artificial gamma radiating which occurs in a lot of USA crystals and unfortunately now with Brazilian. There is lovely clarity at the top, a rainbow on the side, and beautiful natural patterns on the sides.

Check photos carefully because there are a few dings. Get a stand to sit it up, or place in a bowl with sand or pebbles to hold it if you want it as a display piece. Otherwise just enjoy holding its weightiness as you meditate.

Great stone to have around when going through study and a lot of growth. Can certainly help stabilize the home if things are energetically crazy and you want stability.

Geological Identification

It is a brown or grey coloured variety of Quartz.
The smoky colour results from free silicon and aluminium naturally irradiated.

Special Notes

Most people know the brown variety. But geologically there is also grey smoky quartz
Unfortunately more and more quartz is being artificially gamma irradiated. You will only know by being suspicious as to the mine it came from or the matrix of minerals with it e.g. be careful of cheap smoky quartz from the USA or China - usually looks unusually dark and opaque. 2018 update
- Even Brazil is now radiating their smoky quartz and doing a good job of it. Graham and I couldn't tell the difference but thankfully the suppliers were honest and we avoided getting caught.
- Customer advised that he bought irradiated smoky quartz and that the colour faded within a year.
Note: Morian Quartz is a very dark natural quartz.
