Menalite or Fairy Calcite has been one of those crystals that pops up every couple of years. This group is a grey colour all over. It literally grows in these shapes. They are untouched by man’s tools.
They are also called Fairy Stone Concretions and Marlstone. Read about their fascinating geology here.
It certainly looks and feels (tactile) different to other calcite it does feel like a soft concrete and hence the alternate name.
