Orpiment Crystal Cluster

I love the colour of orpiment crystal and that yellow-orange makes it the most noticeable crystal in your collection. It has white calcite on it too.

Usually these crystals are blade-like but this is cubic. Pity its one you have to take care of so ONLY for adults and where it can be kept safe from touching hands. Here’s why:

• photo sensitive
• water sensitive
• arsenic i.e. a toxin – Always wash hands after handling, avoid inhaling dust and never ingest or lick.

This specimen is an arsenic sulphide mineral which forms in low temperature hydrothermal veins and volcanic hot springs. Orpiment is a striking gem-like crystal which is photosensitive. Collections of Orpiment should be kept from direct sunlight and stored in dry light proof containers.

This crystal promotes the development of ideas, innocence, intimacy, investigations, and purity.  It eases the impact and change of death and the dying process. It helps to aid in understanding and removing mental blocks.
