Here is another fabulous Orpiment Specimen with Calcite. I love the colour of this crystal and that yellow-orange makes it the most noticeable crystal in your collection. Most crystals are blade like but this is botryoidal. I serious would love to keep this one but I have to let it go.
Pity its one you have to take care of so ONLY for adults and where it can be kept safe from touching hands. Here’s why:
- photo sensitive
- water sensitive
- arsenic i.e. a toxin
This specimen is an arsenic sulphide mineral which forms in low temperature hydrothermal veins and volcanic hot springs. Orpiment is a striking gem-like crystal which is photosensitive. Collections of Orpiment should be kept from direct sunlight and stored in dry light proof containers.
This crystal promotes the development of ideas, innocence, intimacy, investigations, and purity. It eases the impact and change of death and the dying process.
Calcite is great for emotional healing and mental clarity. It stimulates the flow of energy within the cells, which may help to release blockages to creativity.

Orpiment specimen like this should be handled with care due to the arsenic content. Always wash hands after handling, avoid inhaling dust and never ingest or lick.
