A crystal that always flies out the door and we do not get much is Quantum Quattro Tumbles. It is part azurite, malachite, quartz, shattuckite but not all may be seen in the specimen.

All of the following are minor ore variations of copper.

Copper is considered toxic so best used in polished form and never place in water to create elixirs.

Azurite (Chessylite)

Copper mineral used as blue pigment for paint - more geological information.
The rough is delicate and needs careful handling so not for young children. Azurite is also incompatible with aquatic media, such as saltwater aquariums. Azurite is unstable in open air and may change to malachite.

Malachite

Malachite often results from the weathering of copper ores, and is often found together with azurite , goethite, and calcite.
Mined for copper in Ancient Israel and Britain.
Very soft and easy to damage the crystals unless polished to stabilise - handle with care.

As malachite has become scarce and therefore expensive, reconstituted / synthetic forms as now appearing in shops. Identification - no delicacy in the inter-layering of colours, cheap price and feels plasticy.

Chrysocolla

has a blue, blue-green, even teal colours
Forms in the oxidation zones of copper ore bodies.
Also found with the green/browns of Cuprite or emerald green of dioptase
Very flaky unless polished to stabilise - handle with care.
