There are four versions of "moonstone" if it relates to the shimmer

White Labradorite - White with black

Desired quality - is to have blue opal-like flashes in the white.
Indian version often has blue-green crystals which are aquamarine.

Adularia

used in high quality jewellery - often quite clear with rainbows of flashes.
Can be mistaken for synthetic opalite.

Feldspar moonstone

cream, peach, or grey colour with shimmer rather than flash
high quality peach version actually is known as sunstone - and not considered moonstone geologically.

Plagioclase feldspars peristerite

albite variety Na(AlSi₃O₈)
This may also be part of a granite called larvikite and labradorite (albite : anorthite combo (Ca,Na)[Al(Al,Si)Si₂O₈]), which also exhibit iridescence
but there is some disagreement geologically.
