Large Rose Quartz Rough

I bought a few extra large Rose Quartz roughs. This is a lovely A to A+ grade of Madagascan Rose Quartz natural crystal. Lovely depth of colour I just saw them in the dim evening light and they glowed a lovely blue-pink. Unfortunately the sun was not that great so it looks dull. I left in a photo of a similar one take when there was full sun. Also I lest the tag on which distracted from the crystal so I blurred it out.

These uprights are in natural form and make great statement pieces. We had a heap but are down to our last few as customers love them to be part of people’s harmony-creating space at home. This crystal typically has orange streaks though it where iron didn’t quite integrate into the quartz to colour it. But I don’t see any in this one.

It is universally known as being a crystal for love. I intuit is especially for harmonious soul relationships. And to help the “giver” in relationships know that it is important that they receive from others too. That is the give and take of love and support. Then you trust more as your love tank is full. Special Notes

• It most often grows in masses - never even finding a leading edge of crystal points.
• Occasionally found in crystal cluster form and was officially given own name of Pink Quartz but that has now gone.
• Rose quartz occurs in pegmatites - it forms at very high temperatures, between 400 and 700 degrees Centigrade.
• The color is usually considered as due to trace amounts of titanium, iron, or manganese, in the material.
  • Recent X-ray diffraction studies suggest that the color is due to thin microscopic fibers of possibly dumortierite within the quartz.
• "Star" Rose Quartz has microscopic rutile needles which produces an asterism in transmitted light.
• The crystalline form in elestial in form was originally not called rose quartz and was called Pink Quartz.
  • Often over grew smoky quartz.
  • Found to leach very fast in UV light!
  • Synthetic versions exist.
  • These days all forms are called Rose Quartz.
• Irradiation may cause the formation of smoky quartz color centers and add a gray tone.
