We increased the range this year to include a lot of these small shapes and here are the Septarian Calcite Hearts or Dragon Hearts. It colours come from is a combination of yellow calcite, brown aragonite, grey limestone and white/clear barite. To be honest I don’t particularly notice the latter two. Here is a video to see if it meant to be for you more easily.

Special Notes

Other polymorphs of calcium carbonate are aragonite and vaterite both of which break down over millions of years into calcite.
The largest documented single crystals of calcite originated from Iceland, measured 7x7x2 m and 6x6x3 m and weighed about 250 tons.
Calcite is a common constituent of sedimentary rocks, limestone in particular, much of which is formed from the shells of dead marine organisms.
Calcite is often the primary constituent of the shells of marine organisms, e.g., plankton, the hard parts of red algae, some sponges, etc.
Calcite can be either dissolved by groundwater or precipitated by groundwater, depending on several factors including the water temperature, pH, and dissolved ion concentrations.
