Orpiment Specimen – Pyrite and Calcite

Here is another fabulous Orpiment Specimen this time with Pyrite and Calcite. I love the colour of this crystal and that yellow-orange makes it the most noticeable crystal in your collection. Most crystals are blade like but this is botryoidal. I serious would love to keep this one but I have to let it go.

Pity its one you have to take care of so ONLY for adults and where it can be kept safe from touching hands. Here’s why:

• water sensitive
• arsenic i.e. a toxin

This specimen is an arsenic sulphide mineral which forms in low temperature hydrothermal veins and volcanic hot springs. Orpiment is a striking gem-like crystal which is photosensitive. Collections of Orpiment should be kept from direct sunlight and stored in dry light proof containers.

This crystal promotes the development of ideas, innocence, intimacy, investigations, and purity.  It eases the impact and change of death and the dying process.

Calcite is great for emotional healing and mental clarity. It stimulates the flow of energy within the cells, which may help to release blockages to creativity.

Pyrite Pyrite has extremely powerful emotional protective qualities. It can help you stay strong during times when you feel your resolve and willpower are weakening
