Turritella Snail Fossil

We only found these Turritella Snail fossils once during a trade fair and finally I am putting them on the website. Each shows a cross section and they look as if they have a low sheen polish on the interior sides. Use bees wax or natural resin if you want a better sheen.

These are a mix of shapes:

• A, B, C are “three dimensional” so you see some of the shell and matrix on one side.
  • Shape cradles beautifully in the hand. You can buy a small stand if you want – click here.
• D is a slice which comes with a stand at reduced cost.

• Mariam stone is an agglomeration of minute sea life fossils that are millions of years old. It is NOT an agate. - It is a mixture of fossilized shells,
• I will one day discover what the paleontologists told me the fossils were called, started with a "b" from memory.

Special Notes

• Many names: Mariam Stone, Mariam Jasper, Mariyam Jasper, Mariyam Agate, Snake Jasper, Elephant Skin Jasper, Miriam Agate, Mariyam Agate, Arabic Script Stone, Script Stone, Maryam Stone, Calligraphy Stone or Cobra Stone.
• Calligraphy Stone is more correctly used for a rare fluorite form from China.
• I was naming these as fossilized worms but now giving their correct name.
• Orange/browns version is found in the Himalayan Mountains.
• The brown/tan version may also be from there - but not sure.
