If you are new, Hi! And if you’re as intrigued by the magic of crystals as we are, make sure to like, subscribe, and hit that notification bell for more enlightening content!

I’m Shamarah, and these insights come from years of conversations with customers. And our own trial-and-error moments with our beloved crystal friends.

We’ve all been there: buying a crystal that later we realized wasn’t meant for us. Or finding ourselves wanting to let one go despite enjoying it for years.

Before we discuss the moving on process, let’s first think about the positives you have enjoyed with your crystals:

  • Firstly, even if you’re not into crystal energy, you loved their natural beauty. They really are Mother Nature’s masterpieces!
  • Next, if you do believe in their healing power, then you’ve felt their support across mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual levels of your being.
  • Of course, there is the benefit that crystals are resilient and very long lasting – maybe even forever!
    • Sure, some may get a damaged over time with handling and natural processes, but they still work!
  • Most crystals will even increase in value over time, depending on their age, quality, condition, and rarity!

But there may come a time when you feel drawn to let a crystal go.

Or it feels like it wants to leave you.

Why Might This Happen?

Let’s Look At A Few Common Reasons:

  • You might feel pressure or guilt about owning crystals.
    • Maybe someone said:
“All they do is just gather dust,” or
“They are a waste of money,” or even,
“It’s not right to have them” for religious or philosophical reasons.
    • I won’t go into this deeply, but just remember—it’s your life, your beliefs and your decisions that are important and NOT someone else’s.
    • Still, if you’re overspending on crystals, it’s worth pausing to reflect on why.
  • Another reason can be that you were persuaded into buying one, by a friend or a persistent shop assistant. You didn’t really check in with your own intuition. And once you got it home, it didn’t feel right.
  • Perhaps it was a gift or inheritance. It held someone else’s energy or purpose, not yours.
  • And if you’ve had it for a while, the reason it no longer resonates for you is that you’ve grown or shifted consciousness, and it’s like the relationship between you has come to a natural conclusion.
  • And finally – maybe the crystal gave you exactly what you needed—for just half an hour. You connected to it deeply during that time and bought it! But then you never felt drawn to use it again.

What Do You Need To Do When A Crystal Feels Like It Needs To Move On?

  1. Is It Energetically Dirty?

Start by giving it a good cleanse and recharge. If it’s holding stagnant or negative energy, that could be what’s making you feel uncomfortable around it.

  1. Is It the ego sending a false message?

Ask yourself: is this desire to let the crystal or crystals go coming from my Ego or my Soul?

Sometimes the ego says, “Let’s declutter! Get rid of the Crystals!” when what it really means is: “Let’s put a pause on personal growth.”

Over the years, we’ve met many people who gave away their beautiful crystal collections, only to regret it years later when they were called to work with crystals again.

So please check deeply within whether it is:

    • noise from a shadow aspect, or
    • a genuine Soul nudge to pack them away but ONLY temporarily. Or
    • a real need to let one or more leave you permanently.

Here’s A Process To Help You Decide If Its The Ego’s Sabotage

  1. Wait until you’re calm, energetically clean and centred.
  2. Hold the crystal and let it know you’re considering moving it on.
  3. Feel into your body—what sensations or emotions come up?
  4. Sense the crystal’s response.
  5. If you feel hesitation or sadness, ask why. This is usually because it hasn’t completed its work with you yet. So, it IS the ego getting in the way.

I’ve personally had this happen when I was about to give away a crystal. My ego said to let it go.

By going within, I discovered my ego was being triggered by shadow soul aspects that were resisting transformation. Once I recognized that the crystal had stirred past life karmic memories that needed to go, with its additional help the shadow aspects transformed.

And the crystal is still helping me today!

If you did let a crystal go too early .. don’t worry. We had customers brought back by Guidance to buy a replacement.

  1. What if You Get a Yes and No About Keeping It?

If you’re still unsure, maybe the crystal just needs a new purpose. This is why the confusing message.

This happens because your original intention for it has resolved, or your intention has changed.

Ask it what is its new purpose?

    • Even if you haven’t got a definite purpose for it now, there are plenty of things it will be happy to do:
      • Create or add it into your home’s crystal grid.
      • Create or add it to an altar of other crystals and ask the group to send love and healing to a family member, to a charity or to a global cause.
    • And don’t forget to also check in with your crystal jewellery that you don’t seem to be wearing if they would like some new purpose till you are ready for their help again!
  1. If You’re Sure It’s Time To Move The Crystal On…

Ask Your Guidance Where It Should Go

    • Maybe there’s someone who would love and benefit from it—especially if they can’t afford crystals themselves.
    • Charities, crystal-loving business start-ups, or healing centres are great options.
    • And some people feel called to return their crystal to nature—placing it in a river, lake, or buried in a park, where Mother Nature can use it to help the land and the local community.
  1. If You Decide To Sell Your Crystal:
  • Do a little research on retail prices but be realistic about how much you can ask.
  • Consider selling to Friends, or platforms like Etsy and Facebook Marketplace. Know that Crystal Shops usually will not pay much as they have to add a markup on them when they re-sell.
  1. Prepare Your Crystal For Its New Home

If you want to build your connection with crystals, then it’s important you respect them just like we are learning to respect animals and plants. The wisdom of Native peoples where they have asked us to remember we are connected to all of Nature is no longer considered “stupid” as science starts to back up these claims.

So creating a farewell ceremony is beautiful for you and for the crystal.

    1. Thank it for being with you—even if your time together was brief.
    2. Cleanse it thoroughly and release any programming or intentions you’ve placed in it.
    3. Recharge it with fresh energy.
    4. Bless it for its next chapter. If you’re unsure how, simply ask the Crystal Guides to bless it for you.

And Finally A Few Final Tips

As I Wrap Up This Video:

  • Don’t stress about gifting a chipped or broken crystal. Most people will still appreciate it.
  • If the damage bothers you, a local lapidary club might be able to reshape or polish it. And that may be enough for your ego to say “You can keep it now!”
  • Please never toss crystals in the garbage or bury them in concrete
    • There’s always someone who will love and treasure them. I gave you ideas earlier in this video,

And that’s it! I hope this gives you clarity and confidence in recognizing when a crystal is ready to move on—and how to do it with grace.

If this resonated with you, be sure to like, comment, subscribe, and share! And the next time you are working with one of your crystals … how about giving it a kiss for its love and support!
