Citrine Sphere

These are three Citrine Spheres which show the difficulty of classification. They are citrine yellow tending towards orange tones, show some translucency and colour is even. But you can also call them golden quartz balls as they are not very see through. Activate them with the Azez and they become Azeztulite.

Both have iron creating the colour, but it’s the pattern that splits definition as far as I understand it.

They all show a natural crackling surface so adding to the fascination and further confusing classification. India sold them to us as yellow aventurine which is another quartz variation but to be aventurine is a solid colour of yellow making them opaque. These are NOT coloured or man-crackled. Personally given it is a crystal changed by man I find it great for working with not being accepted for who you are being being made to change to suit other people's expectations - a square peg in the round hole, etc. May help with pancreas, liver, spleen, spine, exhaustion, metabolism.

Smoky Citrine

Geological Information of Citrine

Citrine is a variety of quartz whose color ranges from a pale yellow to brown due to ferric impurities.

Special Notes

• Natural ones are rare - check that yellow gems are really citrine and not topaz or heated treated amethyst
• They also are often smoky-yellow or green-yellow.
• Note: Citrine forms as cathedral clusters and points:All Brazilian mining companies are advising that citrine in geodes are never natural but heat treated.
  • if in the same veins as amethyst are coloured by iron and radiation with Fe3+ causing yellow colour.
  • if in same veins as smoky quartz - usually a yellow-smoky colour or yellow-green are coloured by aluminium trace elements and radiation.
• • We have seen natural citrine in caves but they were tiny crystals and were actually clear quartz over a yellow layer of agate.
• Ametrine is where citrine and amethyst are combined.
• CARE - citrine fades in the sun from radiation.

• Most citrine sold in crystal stores is burnt-yellow, yellow-orange, brown clusters that are heat treated amethyst - they therefore do not work energetically like citrine in their current form - see below.
• Most golden topaz sold in jewellery is actually heated citrine.
