Large Shungite Sphere

Here is one large Shungite Crystal Sphere from Russia. It’s the biggest we have. It is one of the regular grade specimens of this crystal. However it’s been hand polished hence the larger price. Soooooo much nicer than the machined surfaced balls.

The Noble Shungite grade is too friable that they cannot shape it. However this is still a higher quality than most being sold and hence the need for hand polishing.

Meaning of Shungite Crystal

I love that this crystals does more than build the aura against Wi-Fi drain. It brings light to dark times in your life and energizes your body, mind, and spirit. I need to try it out to see if it soothes tired eyes.

Geological Identification

• Precambrian carbonaceous rock of volcanic origin found only at Karelia, Lake Onega, Russia.
• Scientists estimate the age of Shungite to be almost 2 billion years.
• Though it is similar in appearance to coal, it is found in very ancient layers of the Earth's crust that were formed when there were no life forms on the Earth. More here.
• In general Shungite is amorphous substance, but there are elements of graphite, diamond and fullerene internal structures.
• Because it contains fullerene molecules. This is what makes it very unique and different from other minerals.
• Fullerenes (any molecule composed entirely of carbon, in the form of a hollow sphere, ellipsoid, or tube) were found in a family of minerals known as Shungites in Karelia, Russia - only known natural mineral to have them.

Special Notes

• There are three forms of Shungite.
  • Elite (or Noble) Shungite is 90 - 98% carbon. Because of its fragility, Elite Shungite can’t be used for cutting and shaping, and every stone has a unique shape. While expensive, it is by far the best for water treatment. We sell it - click here.
  • Petrovski Shungite. It is semi-dull and black in color, it contains 70%-80% carbon. This is what I feel these pebbles are.
  • Black or regular Shungite. (Sometimes referred to as Type II) Black in colour and contains 30 - 60% carbon. This type represents the largest deposits found in Karelia and is shaped and polished to make all forms of objects. This is the tiles, tumbles, etc we sell on the website.
