These stones are partly angular and so less pretty than some we’ve had. But they are a lot cheaper than our previous buy.

The white flecks are natural in blue angelite and all pieces have them. Some have iron stains.

Special Notes

• Angelite's is mostly seen as a blue stone from Peru - it actually has a chalky white coating that is polished off.
• Anhydrite is mostly seen in Mexico (rarely found).
• The anhydrite fan has been impossible to buy commercially in recent years.
• If it absorbs water it transforms to gypsum. If gypsum is heated to 200 degrees Celcius, it transforms back. Read more geological information.
